Santiago Chile Day 9-Dec 17 13

This has been a lazy day with Antonio waiting for the return of his moto….apparently it is fixed and they said it would be delivered by 5 pm. It is now 2;30 and I believe he has gone to retrieve it himself. He seems to have more energy for walking than I do….so I have stayed behind. It will be tomorrow at the earliest before we can apply for the permission to circulate as we are awaiting the homoglacion papers. Walked over to the mall for lunch….I know its the Christmas Season but just can’t get over the volume of human traffic at this 7 storey mall.

Antonio returned around 5pm…..bike running fine….took it for a run on the open roads had it wound out to 80 k…..wow…LoL… I thought , what will it do once we load our luggage. I guess you sacrifice something when you get a new bike for 2000.00 US $. We figure top end will be 100k………..Dropped into Falabella Dept store as they sell moto insurance but only for Chile. WE need it for the Mercusor Alliance. The clerk gave us the address for RSA and we will check it out tomorrow. This whole procedure isn’t moving as quickly as I anticipated but we will persevere.

  1. Hi Bob, So it looks like Christmas on the road. Should be fun if it's warm.
Be sure to ask Antonio to sing some carols. Terrific tenor on a good day. Also, remind him to be sure to put plenty of salt in the pasta. He tends to skimp on it sometimes. Despite what everyone will tell you, he's a good cook and the one burner stove thing is an old boat trick. You'll be delighted to know that we're up to our oxsters here in snow, ice and minus 24 deg C. It's a bit like winters used to be thirty years ago. Global warming. Buena viaje, feliz navidad y prospero año nuevo.
