Click on the above……….this is the bike we are considering…..which seems to be the most reliable of the Chinese motos we have researched and are available in Chile. Price $ 999,900.00, seems like a lot but that is Chilean pesos or $ 1882.00 US at yesterday’s exchange rate. It also our understanding that this includes the tax. Shipping my moto was estimated with crating to cost $ 2000.00 each way. Hopefully, we will be able to climb the mountains with all our gear…LOL.
Injured my back on Tuesday and having difficulty walking, but I am determined and will fly out as scheduled and recover on route. May be difficult moving my 75 lbs of STUFF ………..any porters out there.
Next post will be from Chile………..
Hey Bob, all the best of the season to you !
ReplyDeleteI just heard yesterday about your latest adventure, wow another biggie !
Hope you have great trip free of peril and injury ;-)
We will be following your blog, good luck.
Jim & Chris Crook
Hi Chris and Jim,
DeleteTomorrow begins a longer journey than any previously taken ( at least completed ), I certainly aim to finish this one and once the bikes are sorted, we will head by the most scenic route to the bottom of South America. I understand that at that Latitude it is currently about 50 F.
Happy to have you following along, back on March 31st just in time for Spring biking and to plan another trip, likely back to Alaska as I didn't really complete that trip....LOL
WISHING YOU A GREAT CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR
Bob
Having difficulty walking - and you're still planning on going on this INSANE adventure ?? Please give yourself permission to change your mind should your back still be causing your grief.
ReplyDeleteIt's no fun being in pain or sick in another Country !!
Hi D,
DeleteYes, I am in dire straights but will get myself to the flight......will walk about the plane to keep from seizing up...LOL..will get some rest in Santiago...stay posted
Bob
Bob, your Chinese bike looks like an exact copy of a certain Yamaha model. I wonder at times if they have an original idea rather than always copying someone else. I don't know you very well but I sense your passion for this trip is stronger than your need to care for your aching back. I trust you have some medication for these kinds of injuries. Again, good luck.
ReplyDeleteI have been in this position before, it will heal. Just need to keep moving and take the odd muscle relaxant.
DeleteAs you may have notice the bike is sold by a Yamaha Dealer but research indicates a Susuki 200 engine.
You are right about the Chinese not using their own design...they simply go to trade shows with digital cameras blasting away....go home and copy.

If bikes don't pop up go to the top of page and products are under Produce....click it then bikes and scroll down to the TTX200 and 250...look like BMW GS knock offs.....less than S3000.00 US
Have a great winter
By this time you should have landed & hopefully feeling better.. Take care and we will enjoy keeping up with your blog. Give yourself some rest and stretches along with meds & a few prayers & we will toast you at McDonalds ..The Russells
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane, we have put a few miles on our shoes...certainly glad my soles are new......may have bikes in a couple days...
ReplyDeleteWarmest Regards
