Today is a day to remember those who parished 11 years ago, a day that changed the relative safety that we had become accustomed to. Last evening
We left about 8:30 and followed 11 s which ended at interstate 59. I was leading and rode over the interstate, proceeding for about 8 miles right into a restricted NASA site……..without the proper credentials we had no choice but to back track unto 59 s which later cnnected us back to 11 s and unto 10 and over a number of causeways into the French Quarter of New Orleans.
Burbon St above and the French Quarter
for you train buffs,,,,namely, Paul
Tonight we are just outside Baton Rouge……We stopped early at about 3:30 as I was tired having spent the last hour running between 70 and 80 on the express way….my butt was hurting. The riding on the secondary roads are more enjoyable.
You will note in the Burbon pics a number of trucks; they are restocking the bars and restaurants for the evening festivities. We wanted to stay but were not able to get secure parking…no way we would leave the bikes in the street. So no night prowling for us…..sucks to be on the backside of 50…
We enjoyed our time in New Orleans, great spot! You are sure on the move!
ReplyDeleteWould like to have spent the evening there....but parking was an issue......on to San Antonio....will get on 190 w in the morning another secondary road but more scenic...we hope...Pedro will get his bike serviced there and then we will go to Eagles Pass and cross into Mexico.
