Yesterday, Pedro and Greg Powell decided to take the challenge the Dragons Tail offered, 318 serious curves in 11 miles. Upon their return I could tell by the look on Pedro’s face and the side tire wear on the bike that he had a hair raising ride. Apparently, Pedro was trying to keep close to Greg and found himself close to lying the bike down on several turns……..reason I stayed at the Lodge……..This weekend has 2 of the conference participants in the hospital, one with serious injuries……Both Greg and Pedro enjoyed the experience and I was happy to see them back without any mishap.
Conference meetings were held thursday through saturday evening and we found these to be most informative. Greg, having recently completed the same adventure has set us up with contacts through Central America should we encounter bike problems…THANKS GREG…Pedro has been in touch and received replies from most……
After having breakfast with Greg, we where on the road about 8:30 following directions from Google Maps….having put Mrs GPS in the TANK BAG for misbehaving and we now have had written directions, NO MAP. We find ourselves in Gadsden Alabama in a comfortable motel only 240 miles from our departure point. We reached speeds of 70 m/h but have taken the back roads through NC, Georgia and Alabama which place you in small villages and towns that slow your progress. The lady at our motel tells us we are approximately 5 hours from New Orleans.
Glad to hear the Dragon was tamed!
