Yesterday marked 4 years since my wife and best friend left this world, so rather a solemn day for me………. one of remembrance and reflection….Sandy, you are dearly missed……..
Today, I awoke early and headed out on the subway to take in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Museum_of_Memory_and_Human_RightsThe Museum of Memories and Human Rights an era in which the Pinochet Regime ( 1973 to 1990 ) tortured & killed hundreds of dissenters secretly disposing of the remains in the desert or at sea…….families are still looking for lost ones…I did not get to the museum as I became lost and spent a couple hours shopping at the Estacion Central hub for bus and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustave_Eiffel rail transportation which includes a large shopping centre on either side…..my watch quit some time ago and it was time to replace it…did so for 7450 pesos $ 15.00 US….The buses are up on the 2nd floor above the shopping complex….go figure……. 2 rows of individual ticket booths serve various lines and routes All this weight above the mall………. The rail station with the bus station adjacent…….and shopping…like small outlet stores….. ………………………………………… very modern and clean subway with 5 separate lines……108 stations and 103 km of track….3 0f the lines use rubber wheels…..so very quite….
Hey Bob, good luck with selling the bike ! What happens if you get no takers
ReplyDeletebefore your departure date ? Better get mentally prepared for snow, we've got more snow here in Gravenhurst than we've had in many years. The banks at the end of my driveway are 6 to 7' tall. You'll be breaking out the snow on your return home ;-)
I am prepared for no buyers....if not sold by next week I will give it away....1st choice was a charity but have been unable to find one that wants stuff.....so I hope I can find someone who needs a bike and willing to change over the paper work.....it was going to cost me close to $ 3000.00 to ship my bike x 2 for both ways...so no loss....
