Canoa Chilling-Febr 28 -2019

Alone again at Sundown. Vickie and Doug taxied to Manta on the 27th for a short flight to Quito and a late flight of 12;30am to Toronto. They arrived safely and likely in need of a rest after the journey, Possibly a bit of a shock with going from 28c to -8c with plenty of snow. Apparently our Muskoka Region has had 14.6 feet of snow to date.......reminds me of what it was like every winter when I was a kid.
 Sunset the eve V & D left

Today dropped by the Canoa Beach hotel to drop off a message from a new client of Julia's and was surprised to see Johnny a friend from my previous visits to Canoa. Greg had not expected Johnny, a Vietnam Vet, to return this year as he had knee surgery in Tennessee and was in therapy.
A gentleman with a suitcase full of stories.....

We needed a drink as it was very hot...so here we are enjoying a chat over a cool one.

Power went off again about 9pm and it is dark. Fantastic spectacle with the night sky stars and hundreds of fireflies scurrying about.....wish the camera could capture this electrifying scene.

Tomorrow the 1st of March is the end of winter in the Southern Hemisphere...will it get even hotter. This week end is the beginning of Festival (Carnival) Week across Ecuador....the town will come alive with revelers. Sunset is booked........recalling last year, it will be partying into the early hours of morning.

As I lay on the hammock I am captivated by the many bird species, butterflies and chorus of sounds against this blue background.

I will take the bike into San Vicente for detailing this morning........our ride the other day was partially on a combination of gravel and mud.
Waiting for Ishia to send me a renewed licence or I will wind up in this position again after Ken asked for a selfie..........on our 1st trip to Ecuador.
